Man charged following assault and robbery at Longsight pub

A man has been charged in connection with a number of violent incidents at a Longsight pub.

Martin Joyce (born 24/12/1983) of no fixed abode has been charged with robbery, assault causing actual bodily harm, three counts of common assault, criminal damage and six counts of witness intimidation.

He is due before Manchester City Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 12 January 2010.

At about 8pm on 12 November 2009, two men burst into the Bay Horse pub on Stockport Road.

Members of staff were punched in the face and cash and alcohol was stolen. Witnesses to the incident were intimidated over the following week.

Police are continuing to appeal for information. Anyone who can help the investigation is asked to call police on 0161 856 4262.
